Roles and Responsibilities
Brian oversees the firm’s operations and its financial professionals, and he works with insurance carriers and financial institutions for finding financial and insurance products for clients. He provides training to producers to support and drive their business growth.
Brian is an Investment Adviser Representative who makes any recommendations or otherwise renders advice regarding securities; manages accounts or portfolios of clients; determines which recommendation or advice regarding securities should be given; solicits, offers, or negotiates for the sale of or sells investment advisory services; or supervises employees who perform any of the foregoing.
Career History and Focus
Brian has been in the financial & insurance industry since 2007. He started his journey in the industry working as an independent financial professional for personal production in Life & Annuity at SYNCIS, which is one of the independent financial marketing agencies. After 6 years, he was positioned as the executive field director of the company and had 30 plus managers under his supervision.
Brian started his own independent practice, Allmerits Financial, in 2015 with his partners, and he co-founded Allmerits Asset, LLC, a registered investment advisor in 2018 and Allmerits HealthCare, a focused medical insurance agency in 2021.
Brian has mainly focused on not only private asset management and individual clients, but also the qualified retirement plans including 401(k) and pension plans for the corporations and institutional clients.
Professional Designations
Brian holds the Certified 401(k) Professional, C(k)P®, the NAPA Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor, CPFA®, and the Financial Service Certified Professional, FSCP® Designations.
Organization Activities
Brian currently serves as the 27th president of Korean American Financial & Insurance Association (KAIFPA) from 2023 to 2024. He has been also actively involved in the Korean American Chamber of Commerce in Los Angels (KACCLA) and the Korean Investors & Traders Associations (KITA).
Educations
Brian has a Master of Arts in Hospitality & Tourism Management from the University of Wisconsin – Stout, Menomonie, Wisconsin in 2004. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality & Tourism from Pai-Chai University, Daejeon, Korea in 2000. Brian graduated from the Air Force Aviation Science High School, Jinju, Korea in 1996 and served 7 years of military service.
